USA: Country song about miscarriage blacklisted Country singer George Canyon’s song ‘My Name’ is banned by certain American radio stations because it's lyrics are about a woman who miscarried
Singer George Canyon is a devoted Christian. On the liner notes to his album ‘One Good Friend’ he thanks "the Lord God" and his music videos are definitely not overly sexy. Yet some conservative U.S. radio stations refuse to play his song ‘My Name’ because it's about a woman who miscarried. “It's kinda weird”, says the 35-year-old country singer, as the lyrics – written to console a friend of his who suffered such an experience – are sensitively written. |
