Freemuse:
Iransk undergrundsmusik lever - på trods

Grand Teatret i København viser film om iransk rap- og rockmusik ved særforestilling søndag den 24. februar kl. 21.30. Filmens instruktører kommer til København

I Teheran findes et "usynligt, sprudlende musikliv” – et musikliv, som lever på trods. Efter flere års forberedelser gennemførte de to instruktører Amir Hamz og Mark Lazarz for to år siden en fire ugers intensiv indspilningsrejse, hvor de mødte et stort udvalg af den iranske undergrundsmusiks udøvere. Resultatet er den halvanden time lange dokumentarfilm 'Sounds of Silence', som vises ved en særforestilling i Grand Teatret.

Freemuse bringer de to instruktører til København og viser filmen i samarbejde med Grand Teatret og Salaam.dk. De to instruktører medvirker ved arrangementet og vil besvare spørgsmål fra publikum efter forestillingen.

Musikerne omgår censuren

"I Iran skal musik og tekster godkendes af det magtfulde Ministerium for Kulturel og Islamisk Vejledning, inden den kan offentliggøres", fortæller Ole Reitov fra Freemuse. "Det er også det magtfulde ministerium, som udsteder tilladelser til at holde koncerter, og ministeriets forståelse for forvrængede guitarer, musikere med sorte t-shirts og et publikum, der hopper, er ikke ligefrem stor. En sang kan falde på, at ministeriet anser et ord, som benyttes, for værende grammatisk ukorrekt – der er ikke den hel store forståelse for yngre menneskers måde at omgå sproget på. På den måde er filmen en beskrivelse af et samfund, som er gennemsyret af censur – men også af en befolkning, som finder måder at omgå censuren på. Store dele af det iranske musikliv lever sit eget undergrundsliv, hvor private koncerter og privatdistribuerede lydfiler er den eneste måde, grupperne kan nå ud til deres publikum."
