Turkey: Singer Ferhat Tunç's trial postponed again
On 28 May 2008 Ferhat Tunç stood trial over an article entitled ‘a revolutionaty Leyla and a song’ which was published in Özgür Gündem newspaper. But once again, the trial was postponed.
Ferhat Tunç was charged with ‘insulting the judiciary’ according to Article 301 of the Turkish Penal Code. Beyoğlu Court (CCFI Num. 2) sent the case to Justice Ministry asking for permission due to a recent amendment of Article 301
