Pakistan: Five injured and 10 music shops damaged by bomb blast
Five people were injured and 10 shops damaged in a bomb blast on 28 January 2010 in a music and video market in the small town of Jand in Attock District of Pakistan's Punjab province.
According to press reports, some construction workers spotted a suspicious box in the CD market at 8:30 AM local time before the shops opened. The bomb inside the box exploded a short while later. As a result, five were injured and rushed to Headquarters Hospital Jand. One person who was seriously injured was referred to Rawalpindi General Hospital.
Muhammad Naqshbandi, president of the Jand Press Club, told Pakistan Press Foundation that six months ago music and video shop owners had received threats from unknown individuals warning them against selling vulgar videos.
The police have started investigations in the case and assigned a guard to the market for security.
